Since you're in Ahmedabad, we couldn’t miss the chance to showcase Gujarat’s marvellous heritage. We know a week isn’t enough to experience it all, and so we’ve carefully curated this day trip to make your first visit to India truly unforgettable by exploring Gujarat's most iconic architectural treasures.

Places we will visit and their historical facts

Modhera Sun Temple
Built in 11th-century, Modhera Sun Temple is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, showcases ancient Indian engineering at its finest. Once adorned with a diamond that ingeniously channeled sunlight through the sanctum, this marvel of ancient engineering lost much of its treasures during British looting. Fascinatingly, the temple aligns with the equinoxes, allowing the first rays of the sun to illuminate the sanctum. The surrounding stepwell also feature carvings of 12 sun gods, representing the passage of time through the year.

Rani ki Vav,
Patan Rani ki Vav, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Patan, is a beautiful stepwell that reflects the skill and creativity of ancient Indian craftsmen. Its detailed sculptures, once buried under silt, are recently uncovered, showcasing the incredible craftsmanship of year 1063 AD. Patan, once Gujarat's capital, is also famous for its Patola sarees. These thousands years old handwoven double ikat fabrics, known for their vibrant colors and intricate designs, are so unique that no machine has ever been able to replicate them, preserving their place as a symbol of elegance and cultural heritage.

Adalaj Stepwell
On our way, we’ll stop at the charming Adalaj Stepwell, built in 1498 by Queen Rudabai, its a marvel blending Indo-Islamic architecture with a tragic tale of culture, devotion, and royal legacy. Its intricately carved walls depict mythological stories and floral patterns. It used to be a vital water source, that served as a serene retreat to travellers and villagers, offering a blend of utility and beauty that remains unmatched.
